The unbalanced, high impedance signal from magnet and piezo pickups is changed to a low impedance, balanced output signal with no loss of brilliance - even on longer cable runs. The Palmer mosel is also suitable for synthesisers and other electronic keyboards, since it is extraordinarily stable.
The output transformer - which offers galvanic separation to eliminate ground loops - can process studio levels of up to +20 dBu. In addition, the mosel is enclosed in Mu-metal to eliminate electromagnetic interference.
The Palmer mosel offers two extra special features: a variable pad (-10/20/30 dB) and a boost function (+12 dB). These features allow you to always achieve the optimal level for noise-free recordings. The mosel is also extemely practical because the unbalanced input exists not only in jack format, but also as XLR sockets. This makes unstable adapters unnecessary. The ground lift switch - to separate from ground lifts - also has a soft lift setting. Power for the mosel can be provided either by a 48V phantom power unit or a 9V battery.
